We are currently seeking to appoint a dynamic Senior Lecturer in Performance. The post-holder will be responsible to the Subject Head of Theatre & Dance.
The BA (Hons) Acting and the brand-new BA (Hons) Theatre & Performance courses are designed to ensure that students develop sound practical skills and techniques in their discipline alongside a depth of contextual knowledge. Our aim is to create flexible, responsive, resilient, inquiring, skilful, innovative performers who can not only make a living in their chosen discipline but also help to redefine it. Our graduates will know how to source and recognise industry opportunities and also how to be instrumental in creating them. We are looking to create performers with agency.
The BA (Hons) Acting and BA(Hons) Theatre & Performance require a full-time Senior Lecturer to deliver core curriculum content in contextual theatre studies lectures, practical actor training workshops and student productions.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of professional contemporary performance and actor training together with an established research/practice profile. The post holder will be able to teach and direct in a broad area of specialization and expertise, both in practice and theory. You will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials. Assessment will also be a key aspect of academic duties. You will have excellent communication skills and the commitment to design and deliver an outstanding learning experience for the students. You will contribute to enhanced collaborative relationships with our industry partners and also to our Outreach and recruitment initiatives. You will be joining a talented and ambitious team of specialists who prioritise the student experience within an exciting and developing subject area.
